was founded by Dagmar Papula (author and actress) and Norbert Kentrup (actor and director) in 2001 with the namesake Stanley Shakespeare (sponsor of the London Globe Theater).

For us it also means having a story with the partners of the guest venues, as well as with the partners with whom we are on stage as an ensemble and with the partner audience (Shakespeare's indivisible scene) for whom we play.

From 1968 to 1983 we were ensemble members of city and state theaters in Bochum, Frankfurt / Main, Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden, Berlin and Zurich, which were decisive for the artistic and political development of German theater. As founding members of the bremer shakespeare company, we brought Shakespeare's folk theater and today's topics to German and international stages from 1983-2001. Seven of our pieces were televised. We staged, played and produced 30 different Shakespeare plays. Dagmar Papula wrote 10 pieces for the playwright's workshop. In cooperation with the Goethe-Instituts, guest tours have taken us to 15 different countries. During these years we received the literary advancement award of the state of Bremen, the advancement award of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, the German critic award and the special award of INTHEGA. We opened the Globe Theater, which was rebuilt after almost 400 years, as the first theater in the world and worked as an actor, professor and author in London and Toronto for a year and a half. In 2007 we were again awarded the INTHEGA special prize for our piece DIE BRÜDER GRIMM.

practices the idea of ​​"wooden O", Shakespeare's Globe Theater, promotes the development of contemporary plays and international networking. As one of the 10 most innovative theaters in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, we were invited to the Impulse Festival in 2001, to the International Shakespeare Festival in Gdansk in 2003 and 2005 and to the Zurich Festival in 2004. Performances take place not only in many German cities, but also in Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Russia, England, USA, New Zealand, Japan and others, as well as readings, lectures and workshops.
